My new Superb

Featured Replies

After 15 months and 20k trouble free miles in my Octavia PD L&K, I have today picked up my new (to me) Superb Combi 2.0TDi Elegance. What a car! I am blown away by the performance, comfort and build of the car. It is terrific.

The car is 6 months old and has done 9K miles. It was pre owned by Skoda. It meant that I had no wait and a car that is as good as a new one and has been run in for me. OK so I dont know how it has been driven, but I have also saved a significant amount on the cost of a new one and still have 2 and a half years of the Skoda warranty. Why buy new as I always have done. On the 40 mile journey home it told me that I had achieved 63mpg! We did get slowed down by fairly heavy traffic. I will see how optimistic that was, when I do a brim to brim check.

I bought the car from Arnold Clarke in Inverness (salesman Ian Eastwood) and in my experience they are really easy to deal with. I know others dont share my view, but I would recommend them. I have bought 2 cars from them and have had one service and no need to go back to the dealer for anything. The servicing cost was good (at £129 for the variable service at 17500 miles). The tyres on my old car still had plenty of tread left. The only reason I sold was that I found the PD engine a little noisy for my old ears. I have no other complaints about the Octy. Whoever gets that car will have made a good buy.

I have taken some pictures and will put them on the site when I find out how to do it

I agree about the octy. I have the same model you had and road noise probably more than engine noise (although it is a bit industrial) would be my only gripe. It is a great car

However just waitin on my new superb now so what you said has made me even more comfortable I've definitely made the right decision. So thanks pilkers! :)
