I have been reading quite a few threads on here and some people are saying drop links are need when using coilovers, however some dont.

can anyone tell me if they are actually needed or not?

The real answer is that extended droplinks might or might not be advisable.

It depends on how far you're intending to drop the car, and how much it matters that the "rest position" of the FARB remains standard for the type and amount of driving you do. If you're building a 300miles/year trailor queen show car then save your money, but if you're building a trackday special with a 3" drop get some!

Depends a lot of what kit your using and how low your going.

As Damian correctly says it depends on what coil overs you have and if the mounting for the drop link comes out straight or goes upwards like on these APs.

If you do need drop links they are shorter ones not extended ones.

i noticed the sump guard its very low on the fabia's! have any of you found any problems with it scraping and how low can you go?

Yup plenty have smacked them on dips in the road

whats the gap from the sump guard to the actual guard?

My sump guard scrapes on speedbumps, so i reinforced it with 2mm sheet metal

Any tradeparts supplier will be able to supply them, tps etc, That number will cross into which ever make they use
