Euro 5 badge

Featured Replies

Hi all going to look at a vrs se this weekend. And have noticed that it has a euro 5 badge on the rear hatch which according to the salesman looks factory fitted. Anyone seen this at all as other vrs se I've looked at haven't had this badge.

So any ideas as to what it was related to?

BLT engined Fabia's are Euro IV

That's as clean as VW could get them, And the reason the engine has been discontinued!

The badge would have been fitted by the previous owner!

It's been stuck on by a previous owner.

Thought as much should be fun getting that off. Can't wait to see my misses face when I get a hairdryer to the car

Why would somebody stick that on? Lol

Don't pry it off or you may damage the paint.

Use some fishing line or similar to get behind the badge

to cut through the foam tape.

Once the badge is off use wd40 to remove the gum ;)

It breaks down the adhesive residue very nicely.

When I've removed stuff in the past I've warmed it up for a bit first with the hair drier then sort of push/slide til glue gives way then clean up with wd40

That should work okay too.

Also an old credit card/ tesco clubcard etc

will not damage the paint if you need to pry to get behind it.

Just in case it's stubborn.

Heat it up and pry a corner off then use a glue remover like tardis to remove it.
