computer mph/kph

Featured Replies

It's driving me scaty. Everything is in mph. That's distance travelled, distance to go, mpg etc etc EXCEPT the speed . Speed only shows kph and I can't find anyway of changing it. Been through the handbook and the screen menus but there's nothing that I can find.

Being a total old fashioned luddite I would really like that nice computer to show me what speed I'm travelling at in MPH.

Anyone any ideas?

The big dial with numbers on the dashboard shows you what speed you are doing in MPH :giggle:

Please just do a search on this site. This subject has been covered ad infinitum.................. Sorry.
.......Perhaps but just a nice straightforward answer might have been really good. :swear:

However as requested above I have/had already searched. Seems it CAN'T be done without recourse to something called VCDS or whatever. As I don't have VCDS or whatever then I still don't know the answer.

Sorry but you can do the same again!

Type into Google "site: briskoda.net VCDS" and you will find the answer.

It might lead you to this section of the forum: http://briskoda.net/...agnostics-vcds/

It is software that you have to buy that runs from a laptop to make changes to your car. There are plenty of friendly souls on here that can help you with their VCDS machines - usually for a bottle of wine or something such like!

Not wishing to inflame things even further but...

If you are driving a UK spec car then the main speedometer gives you the speed in MPH.

There is a requirement for all new vehicles sold in this country to display Km/h for when the car is driven in a country with Km/h speed limits.

Skoda have met this requirement with the small Km/h readout in the maxidot display.

This is the only reason that it is there and it is so small that in normal driving you wouldn't notice it.

If you really don't like it then it can be changed to read in mph by VCDS as stated above, but an easier solution might be to just change the maxidot to display audio information instead?
