Petrol 2wd Yeti playing.

Featured Replies

Thought I'd share these pictures as I quite like them.

Talked my wife, who has only been driving a year, to have a bit of fun with her Yeti while I took a few pictures.

Kind of a first birthday for it. :D

Nice, thanks for sharing!

The Yeti really looks good in red i the green woods !

:-)

Really nice pictures.

Shame about the terrible flooding in your area. Good move buying a Yeti!

Dare I ask where this is? Great pictures...

It's a ford near Chelmsford in mid-Essex, near the village of Danbury.

The river joins the road and they run together for about 40-50 metres or so before seperating. Fine in the summer like now, but I took my Defender through in March after some heavy rain and the water was coming over the bonnet. It must have been nearly a metre deep!

You'll be familiar with Terling and Good Easter then!!

Ashamed to admit I got stuck in Good Easter ford with hydraulic lock. Thought a diesel was OK in deep water. Now I know better. Didn't know the air intake on a Clio was down by the front wheel - as low as they could get it. How much to repair it, I hear you ask - over £2,000. Insurance covered it then about (1994) - bet they wouldn't now. My fault and I admit it. (Couldn't really do anything else, could I?)

GREAT photos there BossFox, thanks for sharing.

Your wife & son enjoyed it, and it's also obvious that your Yeti enjoyed it too. :giggle:

That's what you call a bridge !!

(OK. only half of it's in Essex, but it still aint bad)

EDIT And in case that's not enough, they've thrown in a two lane tunnel underneath the wet stuff !! Shown lower left in the illustration.

+1

That is a bridge! The company I work for is nearly under that in West Thurrock. I have been stuck for many an hour on that bridge and queueing for the tunnel the other way!

I like a good Ford myself but the Thames may be a bit deep :giggle:

Ford Thames 15cwt pickup

Amazing, when you Google 'Ford Thames', how many variations on a theme. Flatbeds, tippers, big vans, little vans, minibuses.....all with much the same name. And made in Dagenham, just a stones throw away.

Great pictures bet it would be fun after a sharp frost to test your goodyear vector 4 seasons!! :)
