Best FARB?

Featured Replies

I have some after-market FARB on my car that's red, the previous owner paid like £150 for it but I dunno what it is... I like knowing everything that's on my car so I want to replace it but what with?

Did the Fabia vRS come with a FARB as standard? If so, does many people replace it with an after-market FARB? Which is considered the best?

All Fabias come with a FARB as standard, it's more than likely an Eibach one, there aren't many options.

No point replacing it if it's in good order though, just burning money.

I changed mine farb in my vrs for a eibech one. I only paid 50 quid for it and it was brand new with poly bushes. And mine is red too, plus I think there is only whiteline n eibech that do them for the vrs.

If it's the thicker Eibach one, that might be why you're finding the Jabba rear bar better than the Whiteline (in the other thread)? - as the thicker Front will be negating the effect of the rear ARB (and the Jabba rear is much thicker than the Whiteline I believe, so will have more effect to overcome the FARB)

I had fitted a wiechers sport lower front strut brace which I took off after having my front bushes done as it caused a rattle. I haven't tracked my car since, not sure if I'll feel the loss of it, my car always felt very nicely planted with it fitted combined with an upper strut brace. Now its off, PM me if anyones interested in it?

Might be worth looking at the ibiza cupra r FARB. its a couple millimeters thicker and should be able to pick one up cheap.

Does the Cupra R FARB definitely fit?

I thought thinner would be better - less understeer which is what the fabia needs (from what I remember of its handling).

Some TT drivers remove them I.believe as it gives a better balance in terms of handling.

Does definitely fit. A skoda technician recommended I fit one.

Triggerfish - I don't have a great knowledge on suspension but I've driven a cupra r and they handle remarkable well.

As in the "best RARB" thread, it's the whole package that's important.

For a Fabia on standard suspension, installing a RARB is the best bang for bucks mod. It's possible a bigger FARB may help if added at the same time or if added after experiencing the RARB.

I'm not aware of anyone who has done this though. Generally people either fit a RARB, then stop changing things or throw away the whole springs/dampers and fit coilovers (for the purpose of going fast on track as opposed to posing).
