Another my 61 plate Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Collected my new car from Park View Skoda in Reading yesterday and had a 250mile journey back home to get aquainted...

It's poverty specc'd as I wanted the zero % zero VAT deal, so option wise it came with GSM telephone option, mats, and the black bits. I also got the internal bike rack thrown in!

A couple of quick snaps before hitting the road.

First impressions

Jeepers, its difficult to modulate power when settting off from a roundabout when you need instant acceleration, but don't want to give it full beans as it's a little hesitant on pick up. V difficult when your trying to keep below 4k!

DSG is the future...silky smooth gear change, makes motorway cruising a pleasure.

I need to RTFM, had great fun trying to work out how to open the passenger door, multiple key presses lead to the windows opening slightly etc B)

It's going to be interesting once run in, comparing the Fabia with my previous car. A Clio172 ph1 which was a go-kart on rails, and boxed well above it's weight performance wise.

Nice one.

Very nice glad you like it.

Could you give a bit more detail and pics on the bike rack. Interesting to see

Run in....???

Seriously...Dont bother

The engine needs some power to get the oil seals bedded in

This engine is state of the art and doesnt need to be run in at all

This is 2011 NOT 2001

likeing the estate very much just keep an eye on the oil.

agreed, the more you "run it in" the more oil it will use, and the more hesitant the box will learn to be! mine was bouncing iff the rev limiter at 14 miles, driven normally from new, used about a liter in the first 10k, now up to 15k and hasn't used a drop since the 10k service!

oh, and do keep checking that oil!

have fun! :)

Was this the car from the showroom ?

Cheers Guys,

Yeah there are no reviews out there on it, I'll post pics when i get it installed. I'm sure my 56cm road bike will fit in, but not sure I'll get my MTB 150mm full susser in. There are some details on pg70 of the owners manual.

LOL...is this why Skoda supply a complementary bottle of Castrol??

Running in is a contentious issue i think...I can see the reasoning from both sides, and my jury is out!! er plus advertising that you've cained the car fom new may affect resale and or warranty!!!!! ;)

Yep... I tracked it down as my local dealer couldn't get ParkView to release it to them. Don't tell me, you skiffed the steering wheel and left chewing gum under the seat?? :D

Off out later to pick up some locking wheel nuts, rear boot mat and install LEDs all round

Nice looking car loving the black bits

Red/black is a very nice combination. First one I've seen on the Estate. UNique

Looks nice - black pack suits certain colours. Makes the white one look like a panda...

I suppose this could be a panda that got put in the colour wash?

Wheels set it off nicely - good work

Let it warm up but get out there and redline it!

This is critical I would say.

nice motor

Thats easily my favourite colour combo if anything id say the best looking pic of any fabia ive seen on here.

Dont bother running it in. Just drive normally, and if your going to rag it, wait until the oil temp on the maxidot display is reading at least 70oC

Very nice. Was tempted to change to red too. White I think looks good with the black pack. Saw a white Monte at the dealers that looked good but red is very tasty though

The 1st estate vrs I have seen, looks good, and for once I am happy about red calipers( rather than green) as they match, like the black grille and lights too

Very nice vRS estate B) & in the best colour too :p have to say the black pack looks very good on a red estate have lots of fun with it :D:thumbup:

Very nice
