I was just up at local Dundee Skoda trying to get a set of console bushes.

The guy whipped a couple of rear console bushes off the shelf and said they slide in, but the front bushes only come as part of a new console unit?

Is this true or should I just bite the bullet and a superpro set. Was trying to keep cost low.

You can just buy the bushes.

They are the new/modified "X" type bushes, part No 1K0407183E.

I've just checked the Skoda shop for this part and it has listed,

Front Suspension Bottom Arm Rear Bushes 1K0407183E £9.68.

Does such a part exist for the front bushes, or do I need to go superpro/powerflex/cupra route?

I've done a fair bit of research and it looks like the Skoda route to get front console front bushes done is to buy a skoda console unit with bushes intach at a cost of £80 plus vat per side. Otherwise, remove the old front console bush and replace with either superpro/powerflex/cupra etc.

Think that's right - front bushes are sold with the lower arm attached. If you need to replace console bushes, you won't go far wrong/much cheaper than with a front Powerflex/rear Cupra combination.

You will have to remove the front bushes by cutting/pressing out (not difficult) and you will need suitably-sized (mahoosive!) washers and bolts (and lubricant) to pull the new Cupra bushes into the console once you've cut the (usually b*ll*xed if they are original) old ones out.

Searches on here will give you more of the low-down.

Look....it states FRONT suspension arm!!!!! There are two bushes on the front arm....one on the front the other on the rear.....the rear bush on this front arm is also known as the "console" bush as it sits in the aluminium console unit that the front arm locates into!! The front bush on the front arm rarely goes wrong so leave alone (but if you want to upgrade use the SuperPro version).
