Roof rack or rail

Featured Replies

Hello,

I would like to add either a roof rack or rail to my skoda fabia.

I noticed that on the roof there are indents covered with plastic that run at either side. If these slots are for a rail does anyone know where I can buy them?

:) The only ones that will fit are the genuine Skoda ones and apart from the dealers (dearer) try J.M.BUTT they have a web site and will send you out a catalogue. I bought some genuine roof bars that either fit the Octavia or Fabia from J.M.Butts after trying some Paddy Hopkirk ones which were a very bad fit. To fit the bars just prise out the small bits of plastic (about 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches) in the roof channels and the bars clamp into the holes.

Thanks, I will have a look.

The genuine Skoda roof bars are made by Thule and are very solid once they are adjusted and fitted correctly. All the Thule goodies (cycle/surfboard mounts, roof boxes etc) will fit them.

Just make sure you don't lose the little plastic covers!

Does anybody know if the longitudinal roof rails fitted to the Fabia Elegance estate would go on a hatchback? The ETKA parts catalogue lists three different roof panels and suggests the rails are only for the estate.
