Flat Battery

Featured Replies

Morning All!

I did a quick search with no luck, hoping you can help me out a bit.

I got up the other day, too early for my liking, and to top it off i had a flat battery.

No central locking, no ignition, no starter... the usual!

Walked around the car toget my jump pack from the garage, and noticed the rear wiper had moved up 2 inches into its sweep... strange!

Anyway, connected the booster pack, and away we go.

Now thinking about it, the only possible solution i can think is that this is the first time I have left the car to stand for over 24hrs with the ipod connected on the mdi...

Could this have drained the battery to completely empty, ie - not even enough for ignition?

And secondly, i know that when the battery dies that the electrics can do some random things... would this explain the rear wiper?

Or can it just be a some paranormal activity?

The iPod shouldn't have drained the battery , the flat battery syndrome I.e paranormal activity you may get issues with some electrics central locking and window issues, hopefully nothing to do with the LEDs you've put on :(

I have got a few days off work next week, mostly going to be just round the house so can try a couple of things out aswell...

Going to leave it for a couple of days with the ipod disconnected to eliminate this as draining the battery, its the only other thing i can think of?

I noticed before that even with the ignition off, the ipod stays charging... Not sure if anybody else has this?

Not sure if it could be the LEDs, Can check there is no current draw when not in use, although I just swapped these from my last car, and had no issues with them then.

Sounds strange to my ears, if an iPhone/iPod would drain a relatively large car-battery then something is seriously wrong, luls!

You probably wouldn't have any iPod left either, imagine how hot it should be :p!

leave my i pod in and my car can some times be left for a week before I use it and never been flat yet. car 9 months old only 1404 miles ave 39 mile a week.

My iPods been in the car since day one back in february and only done 2700 miles and no problems whatsoever.

Also iPod connected doesn't really have the power to battery drain - maybe if left for 6 months or something but would have to be that extreme. God luck hope you track it down.
