Hey guys, I really want to remove the side mirror covers on my pre-fl RS to cover them up with 3M carbon di-noc vinyl but have no friggin clue how to approach it and I don't want to go breaking them either. What's the technique or method? Can anyone help and advise?

Just let the wife drive it for a week, I'm sure she'll soon remove it for you

Seriously though my first effort would be to remove the mirror glass. This is easy enough, angle the glass so that you can see the floor, squeeze your fingers through the gap between the glass and the plastic housing at the top and gently prize the glass off its plastic securing clips by pulling down with even pressure across the mirror's width, it should just pop off.

Once inside you will then gain access to all the other removable bits, LED indicator, puddle light, electrical adjustment etc. I'm sure this will allow you to determine how the colour coded plastic cap is secured on.
