James' Black VRS Project

Featured Replies

Hello I'm James, new to the forum, and i've recently gone and bought myself a fabia VRS to use as the new daily drive B) The fabia is the 6th car i've owned, which is a lot considering i only passed my test when i was 18 (4 years ago lol), so i have a habbit of always buying new toys. I've recently finished uni, and i'm starting a new job soon so a reliable, economical motor was needed which lead me towards a VRS.

Its black, 90,000 on the clock, one owner from new, got full service history, 12 months MOT, 6 months tax, 3 months warranty etcc. I only picked it up 2 days ago and it puts a massive smile on my face. Really impressed with the power the PD130 prduces and how it puts it down!

Anyways, heres a few pics...

I've already given it a wash, a good clay, and a wax to get it nice and shiney and protect it for a while. The plans for it arent anything drastic as i want to keep it economical and useable, so it'll just be lowered (unsure how much), stage 1 remap, LCR splitter, some decent ICE and possibly some tasty BBS rims at some stage :p

I also own another car, a 1983 mk1 fiesta 1.1

I've owned it since december 2009, at which stage it was completely standard. But since then i've threw a few grand at it, which has included gaz coilovers, alleycats, ashley exhaust, recaro seats, chrome bumpers and mirrors, pressed plates, and i'm currently building a near race spec 1700 crossflow on twin 40's to go in it. So, basically this is the money pit lol and i cant really carry on using it as a daily with the plans i got for it

Cheers bud! if you're looking at getting one i'd get one pretty soon if you can as the prices are slowlyyy starting to rise on the fiestas. The golfs are pretty expensive atm but well worth the money if you can get a good one ;)

Thanks mate, i'm a huge fan of old fords. I attend ford fair and try get to any retro meets. Owning a mk1 escort is a dream, but you need a rather large wallet of cash for that haha

Thanks very much dan! The fiesta is a great little toy, its like a go kart compared to the fab

Cheers matey! B) glad you like it! Its a great little car (actually been the most reliable i've owned), and does get a lot of attention. The engine in it atm is slowww though lol, should be good with the 1700 in it :) I'm looking for a garage/unit to store it in over the winter while i use the fab, stop it rusting!

I am indeed  on a number of forums tbf, but most are old ford forums. I've taken it to fast show, ford fair and trax over the past two years too, so mighta seen it there?

Mk1 golf will be awesome mate! Especially if you can get a decent early one with chrome bumpers - mmmmmmm. Retro hatches are great fun though. No ABS, no PAS, no traction control, fantastic things to drive, but bloody scary when you lock up in the wet or when a lorry attempts to overtake you on the motorway haha

Glad your getting on well with the furby mate, wonder how long it will be before she takes pride of place. Although with your blue oval badges running through your blood that might not be the case

haha it'll take a lot for it to be pride of place considering how much i've spent on the fez :p

but i think they're both incredible cars, but in different ways. Lol every car i've owned has been a ford...and they've all been pains in arse apart from the fez, which is why i've turned VAG. So, VAG > new fords (with the exception of the FRS lol). The fabia just seemed to match everything i wanted perfectly, and they're cheaper than the ibizas on insurance :)
