A new steering wheel

Featured Replies

Right then, after sitting in my mothers new fiat 500 arbarth ss edition and grabbing the steering wheel it felt amazing, then I got back into my car and it felt like I was touching a cheap rounded dildo, I still want to keep a airbag but I want a nicer firmer wheel, I've never looked into changing the steering wheel, so I'm after advice where to get, what I can't do ect ect.

Many thanks.

So what your after is a steering wheel that feels like a groovy expensive dildo??

Mk4 golf r32 steering wheel should do the job. :)

Right any good places to get these?

Right any good places to get these?

There's only one place mate....... EBay.

But more chance of finding one on the German EBay.

How's the navy at Portsmouth working out James?

You won't need a steering wheel out on the seven sea's. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

R32 steering wheel is lush! But be prepared to pay £250+ for one...

It's an investment though, you will be able to sell it for the same or more at a later date!

Look through my build thread (click my signature) to see photos of mine

I'd check TPS, they wasn't much more than that new iirc

Ive gone for a Leon cupra r steering wheel ill get some pics up when it arrives and ive fitted it

would the steering wheel of a golf r fit? i suppose its just a matter of fitting th existing vag airbag from the fabia straight in?

Would a mark 5 steering wheel fit??

Would a mark 5 steering wheel fit??

steering and airbag will fit fine as long as the skoda electrician 'knows' what he is doing. Many Octavia mk1 in Greece have steering wheels and airbags from the Golf V and Audi S3 8P

it felt like I was touching a cheap rounded dildo...

well after a few weeks of the seller messing me around my new steering wheel finally showed up not had a chance of fitting it yet but here is a pic of the wheel ive gone for

I had a steering wheel, for my Vito, leather covered by Royal Steering Wheels (advertise on Ebay) I am very pleased with the result and would definately go there again. Give Jack a call; he will do any Wheel, he just advertises the common ones he does. I know he has done a Lamborghini Gaillardo.

the stitching and center line look faded on the pic but they are bright red in person camera dint seem to pick the colour up, and yes my steering wheel is straight the wheels arent straight in the pic thats why the center line is off :)

looking good!

Like that, was it a direct fit ?

yh mate same fitment on the splines and as you can see airbag clipped straight in. all the wiring was exactly the same

Really like that mate, how do you remove the airbag on the standard wheel?

Really like that mate, how do you remove the airbag on the standard wheel?

ignition off and use a long thin flathead screwdriver to flip the clips to the side. can take 10secs or 10mins

i cheated and used my mates airbag removal tool

just makes a change from the r32 wheels and looks a little more sporty but still has the oem+ look if you get me?

Sweet what year leon was it from ? all the ones i looked at have a badge attached at the bottom :S

think it was the leon cupra r thats what it was listed as it could possibly be the ibiza cupra tho.
