Glovebox Mod...

Featured Replies

Today I started attacking some of the rattles that have started.

To be fair starting this was an easy fix as the cause is simply loose items rattling in the glovebox.

I like to keep an audio cable and a torch in the glovebox, no worthers originals and tissues here!

Now being lined with plastic causes rattles, I set about carpeting them.

First up i made some cardboard templates to get a nice fit, got a carpet tile from b&q and transferred them. (£3.50)

I bought a paper clip strip thingy for the edge, as you can see the edge of the base weave in the top glovebox (£0.30)

I already had some padded double sided sticky to keep the top glovebox piece in shape as is curves but for arguments sake (£1.00)

So all in i have spent less than £5.00 to carpet the lot and made some pieces for the centre console too.

Found this in the group buy section but reckoned id make my own. I think im going to buy another tile and have a crack at the door pockets aswell...

Hope this helps someone else out.

Good idea might have a go myself at the weekend.

nice one...

hmmm, i would have gone for some suede/alancantra style material for a more premium feel, but then again it is a skoda, so carpet tiles will have to do i guess.

the one in the centre console next to the cup holders looks the best imo, i like it

Like that!

good idea

Got a lot of anti-split matting which I might have to shamlessly copy and do this myself.

Never thought about it tbh!

Very nice job looks very good
