SKODA 120LS RALLY

Featured Replies

Hi to all from Spain!

I will like to post some photographs of my car, as I am really proud of it.

We use the car for TSD rallying and circuit races.

It has a 130's Skoda engine, instead of the original one, fitted with a Weber 40 DCOE I manage to install with the help of all your advices.

Now we are fitting the car with an Skoda 130 steering rack instead of the original box, which is a nightmare. But it seems we need to modify half of the car to fit it.

Hope you like how it looks like.

And also I will like to ask you if you where I could find one of those Sun strips with the letters Surprising Skoda to put it on my car.

Cheers!

Nice looking car. What suspension are you running? Back in the day the trick package for gravel rallying was standard 130 springs with Volvo 140 front dampers and SAAB 900 Combi rears (so much so that Skoda works used them {sources vary, but include John Haugland}) and Sachs did develop dampers for a Group B Estelle.

Also, I think the shell changed in 1982, when the rack and pinion steering came in.

Thank you for your opinion. In the pictures it is still stock suspensions.

But now we run 30mm shorter springs at the front and allover 4 Spax dampers with adjustable damping and runs very well.

At the very begining we tought in was not so difficult to change the steering onto pinion steering but we have to change much much things.

We run in classics category, older than 25 years.Uf it were not we could use our 1990 skoda 130 with all new features and we could forget about changing half of the car.

But we like the troubles.
