Mark aka bowders1 is your man! He's done some wicked guides that should be on here somewhere if you search. Other than that I'm sure he'll post them up for you

I done my bumper last week, took about 2 days I left the grill but meshed the to front side pods and increased the size of the centre grill. The biggest problems I had was finding plastic mesh a certain size, most out there is plastic coated wire mesh which is vunerable to elements when chipped. I sourced some rs4 mesh from germany of eBay £40 delivered which was enough to do it all, I'll have to put some pictures up in the future but just remember measure twice cut once! :-)

I used black mesh from halfords £25

As say above i would post a picture of what i did last week. (hope this works) :giggle:

Mark,

The grill front looks good on your car, mine is silver and I have often wondered about doing that myself.

NB: Guy in a R32 parked next to me yesterday and we got chatting, he loves his car.... big engine etc I didnt realise they were 4wd,

he did moan about the road tax tho £400!!!!

Cheers, Yep the R32 is a nice motor and the 4 motion works well. It was a choice for me some time back. But I went VRS.

R32 is just not powerful enough in that heavy engine and takes truck loads of cash to make it better.

I would prefer to go Audi S3 route (same 4wd set up)and still use the potential of 1.8t engine. There is someone that has a Golf 4 motion with a 1.8T engine now that sounds fun.

How do you get to the front towing eye with the mesh there?

Does it snap in and out on that side?

I keep meaning to do the two smaller grills on the bumper...someday.....

Steve

p.s. Bowders I think you should buy my old Garrett GT3076R that i'm trying to sell on here!! It will go as good as it looks then!!! :):)

Hmmm, PM me with details......

The milotec grills come out not too bad, they are clipped in. You just need to bend up the metal clip to get them out.

Bit of a tangent here, but just to make you feel better... it would cost €1500 a year to tax a R32 here in Ireland. :o

Sure it is over €500 for me to tax the octy.

....continue with the mesh talk, and Bowders, more pics of your momo please!!!!
