I've had the Yeti 2 years next month and done 20,000 plus miles. A problem with a vacuum something or other put it into limp mode but was given a courtesy car and sorted overnight. Handbrake got sticky but was sorted while I waited. 2 new tyres at around 18,000 miles. It's used as a workhorse and does all the dirty jobs like taking garden rubbish down the tip. Also goes off road regularly to take me fishing. It's seen two very hard winters and has been used to take people from the village into town to go shopping etc. Takes all weather in its stride on the standard Dunlops. On the road it's just like a car and the 140 horses give it plenty of oomph. I regularly get 40 - 42mpg.

The Fabia is 9 months old and belongs to the wife. It only does genteel stuff and the dog is only allowed in on a blanket! I drive it every chance I get because I love the combination of the TSI engine and the DSG box. I was a bit worried about fuel consumption on long, fast runs as we were getting around 35mpg. However, as it is running in it's improving and on a standard run last week we got over 40. Don't know if we will ever see the promised 55 though!

All in all we are both well pleased.

very nice indeed. I have the TSI in the Yeti but have driven it in my dad's fabia too (very briefly), cracking wee engine

Excuse me for donning my nerdy hat....but what material is the driveway finished in? Is it that epoxy resin bonded stuff that feels smooth to the touch but looks a bit like a gravel drive from a distance? Looks neat. Can you tell me about it? [ Oh, and so does the car :) ] Haven't had a dark green car since the early seventies...(a distinctly iffy Rover 2000).

Nice combo - green/chrome has come out well in your photo.

Really nice color on the Yeti, looks a bit like my old Jag which was British Racing Green

Green and Red, a nice combination !!

You are supposed to be admiring the cars! But yes, it is resin bonded gravel and I heartily recommend it. Had it four years with no problems and it looks great.

While I'm on, how do you get the photo to come up in the email?

By rightclicking on the photo in imageshack(where you had placed it first) to get the webadress for it,

and then clicking Insert Image button in the post editor (where you write your post)

Its the button secon to the right from the Smiley face button.

Then you just paste the webadress into the picture insert , and hey presto, its in your mail.

Its much easier to do than to explain, just try it out and you will see.

cheers
