Fabia Headlight Condensation

Featured Replies

Hi all, replaced my sidelight bulb on the drivers side and struggled to get off the metal springy thing. After a lot of tugging and pulling it released the back cover. Now i cannot get it back on properly, theres a slight gap underneath and this morning condensation has formed on the inside of my light grrrr!!

So my question is, how does the metal springy thing hold the bottom left of the back cover in place? Hopefully the condesation will burn out once having my headlights on for a bit..

Thanks.

Don't get too hung up about the spring clip, It's only present on the O/S lamp.

Make sure you've located the retaining tabs in the bottom of the cover correctly, That'll seal the lamp!

And opening the lamp will always introduce cold damp air at this time of year, It'll eventually burn off.

Thanks, it was done a couple of weeks ago (when warm) and this morning is the first time its condensate up. It does feel like its on ok and as you said the other clips are on correctly, its just irritating me as i dont want water marks on the inside of the headlights..

I'll have another go at doing it tonight.

I've seen on a search for this that you can put screws in somewhere, anyone any ideas as to where and how etc. like does the bumper need to come off to remove the light to put these screws in??

Thanks.

If you look at your photo there's a hole in the lamp body (Top mid left of photo) There's a corresponding channel in the back cover, Pop a suitably sized screw in each end of each lamp cover, That'll further secure it!emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Cheers, managed to get the spring clip back on and in place with the use of grips and a lot of fiddling around. Its now tight at the bottom so hopefully no more condensation, thanks for the advice mikeb
