lol.

Cheers guys.

I am keeping the vRS. The GF even said to me yest that she doesnt want me to sell or break her as she has seen over the years how much the car means to me. I felt quite touched lol as she really is peed off with it lol and hates how much Ive done and do to it.

I have said tho that if the time comes where we really do need the money then I have said I will break it.

Still looking to get the E39 tho as the everyday car. want a std one and thats how it WILL stay. no remap nothing. She did say that she is happy for me to have the vRS as a project so I am happy there. I have till Apr/May to find a good BMW so no rush.

Gonna go to the Garage tomoz before work to see whats what lol.

Wash time at the weekend too all being well. Hr or 2 sleep after work sat morning then on to it. lol

Give it a good clean up Billy. Having seen your car in the flesh it's a really nice example & having spent all that money modding, it would be a shame to neglect it. If you do go for a E39 get a M sport as they're much nicer than the standard SE.

Do as much reading of buying guides on E39 as you can before looking.

I had a 525I and was a great car but they suffer from a few problems that can be expensive to sort so it is best to know what to look out for 1st.

you will only lose money changing your car - not worth it if you love it that much.

if you really want to change either break it, or put back to standard and sell mods separately

we, finally managed to wash car and its good weather all week so bonus.

She looks stunning. For some reason too the clutch is not feeling as bad?

Still lacks feel tho and slips high up but usable

I really want the BMW tho but I am having second thoughts now as I want to move from where we live now to a bigger house closer to where I work. That will save money on fuel and means ill have a nicer place to wash the car lol. Might do it more.

Need to save up to get a few blemishes donethen she will be like new.

Billy

I used to own a 528i se auto.

Averaged 17mpg driving steady or single figures when giving it some. Rear wheel bearing went and cost a fortune to replace, viscous fan went faulty and randomly started overheating , even though 3 garages said there was no air locks, leaks or faults.

Only car I've ever driven at 125mph in near complete silence. Almost no wind noise.

Op telling me good things about them. I really want one now.

Want the vRS to be the gocart I never had and the BM the sofisticated luxury drive lol

Bil

Hi mate - i can understand the dilema that you are facing as it is not easy to part with a car that you have owned, cherished and modified from new (i had a mk4 Astra SRI Turbo from new with a few choice mods and sold it). After the SRi-T i bought a 2002 e39 530d Msport auto and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - it was powerfull, comfortable and dare i say it economical but this was sold to fund a deposit for a house. I did resist the temptation to modify the 530 and instead just kept it in tip top condition - you always hear horror stories on forums but in the time i had the car the only thing i had to replace was a bush.

Since selling the 530 i bought a house, got married, bought a Volvo V50 2.0D se sport for the Mrs, pottered about in insignificant cars and a long term B5 Audi A4 which had been whacked with the lowering stick. Recently i decided to part company with the A4 and get another estate for practicality and set about the task of looking for a derv...................ended up buying a mk1 vrs estate and i love it!

To sum up my long winded story keep the vrs and look out for a mint e39 530d Msport - this way you get the best of both worlds.

Cheers

lol,

I like that idea mate,

Would love the BM as the smooth drive and the vRS as the play thing lol, she handles spot on even on the weitecs (I know guys, I should of put the KWv3 on by now!)But I have left it due to it being nice to drive so didnt want to screw it up lol.

How could you get rid of this?

Get those KW's on ! They are way better than wee-tec

Maybe you should consider other options.

Buy a cheaper, OKish diesel

Then with the money saved continue to tune the vRS B)

Hi billy2981, as i am relatively new to this forum the pics above are the first i have seen of your car - you can't get rid of that fine example! I have just checked the price of e39 530D's and they are still fetching strong money!

Good luck mate.

Cheers mate,

The 530d are all auto so prob gonna bin that one and go for the 525d as some (not many) are manual. They are arounf the £3-4k mark. I think tho it would be better putting that into a house tho? lol

hope you enjoy the forum too, keep your wallet hidden tho as my car is as it is due to this site! Damn you lot :giggle:

Cheers, I dont like the look of the std 5 series lol, has to be the M sport. Wanted the Fabia vRS but again they are still very pricey and nearly all have high miles.

The Weitecs will stay on till after winter now I think. every year after winter she gets stripped down and cleaned up and serviced in the suspension dept so might as well swap it all then.

billy

lol,

wrc front bumper bonnet wings and rear quaters would look good;-)

oh oh i might just be able to help lol
