Anyone know for definite whether you can use the original wheels bolts used to fit original alloy wheels to secure VAG steel wheels.

Some car manufactures state that they are not interchangeable due to the differing tapers between steel and alloy wheel bolt locating holes, some say they can be used as a temporary measure. I can’t find any information on Skoda’s recommendations.

Do I need to buy need to buy VAG bolts specifically for steel wheels or will the bolts holding alloy wheels on do the job correctly.

The bolts for the Skoda alloy and Skoda steel wheels are the same.

On my old car I had to use alloy bolts on the spare wheel when I had a puncture. It's best to buy some other nuts off eBay or from a local scrap yard...

Skoda supplied my car with steel wheels. They did not use any different bolts than standard.

I'm currently using the bolts from the steels wheels that came with my car on my alloys and have had no problem

Got steels and winter tyres from mytyres so not original VW group wheels but Yeti studs did the job perfectly.
