yep the new skoda fabia vrs 1.4

That's nice to see. I'll get 40mpg on a run but my average is between 30-36mpg.

How many miles on a full tank? I'm getting 380-410 miles so about 39-41MPG.

its between 365 and 425 on a full tank :)

roughly what you guys paying for a tankfull?

I have a question, a bit off topic....question is should I be worried that when my oil warning light came on (for the first time) yesterday the dip stick was off the scale! Topped up my 1.4 vrs immediately! Scary. Lasting damage? I've done 1600 miles, and it's probably 500 miles since I last checked the oil :-(

Nope - oil warning light will come on ages before levels get low enough to do damage. Else the warning light would be pretty pointless eh? :D

Not bad, easy to get more than that though as long as the traffic flows and you don't boot it to hear the turbo spooling like a child...

I don't think I've ever heard the turbo! At least as loud as I've heard it on other cars. Supercharger yes, it makes a very distinctive sound, but I really can't tell when the turbocharger takes over. Even If I pay attention to distinguish a sound difference around 3000-3500, there is just a constant acceleration and sound...

We should have a competition to see who has the LOWEST mpg.

I win :'(

I've averaged 19mpg on a short blast

That big whooshy sound - that's the turbo :)

Its quite distinctive B)

You mean when you shift up and the rpms drop? Yeah I know it's the turbo! :D I just meant that I don't understand the change from supercharger to turbocharger!

Ah, isn't it from 3000rpm or something. Floor it in 3rd or 4th with the window down :)

Sure. Window down helps but with all windows up the transition is barely noticeable in the steering wheel or the thrust totally. That's good of course, but it just is a bit different from the feeling of single turbo cars where the turbo kick showed up around 3000-3500... Of course at the vRS this kick shows up earlier, around 1500-2000 depending on the depression of the pedal, when the supercharger gets down to work....
