My baby is damaged....

Featured Replies

OK, a bit meladramatic I know, but after a mere 5 weeks and 2000 miles I have my first stone chip on the bonnet of my Octy vRS.

Suggestions as how to effect a repair please (yellow ie non metalic paint).

TIA,

Steve

On my car the way I got over stone chips on my bonnet was wait for more, then each extra one becomes less dramatic. ;) Although this morning on my way to work I heard a massive CHING!!! off the top of my windscreen/roof which scared the ____ out of me, and I pulled over for a look but couldn't see where it had hit due to other marks already there. Eventually I may pop into a bodyshop to see if they can patch repair / spray my damaged bits. :)

In the short run a touch up kit may help mask the chip somewhat?

Definition of a touch up kit? I've tried touch up sticks in the past but never been pleased with the results.

Presumably I need to do something or it will rust. I suppose i was hoping someone could tell me how to use a touch up stick and get good results.

Thanks anyway

Use a tooth pick to apply the paint rather than the supplied pen/brush.

Got a few chips over the last year. Last clunk I heard scraed the c**p out of me. So much I pulled over....

...massive hole in the front grill. Cheers :-(

No idea what it was. Id take a paint chip on the bonnet over a gaping hole in the front of the car anyday.

Eddy is correct - dont use the supplied brush with the touchup paint I got from the Skoda dealership - It is just too inaccurate and messy.
