Starter motor linked with DMF

So yet again my EML light came on 3rd time in as many weeks and the second visit for a particular guy David at VW Assistance who i may add is a true petrol head we had a cuppa and a good chat about cars etc, he done lengthy investigation on the car and tested the N80 valve and it turned out there is a high resistance and in turn needing a new purge valve (why the dealers didnt replace it i dont know) he's ordered the part and will pop by on tuesday to fit it for me under warranty at home beyond the call of duty in my opinion,

I mentioned about the gearbox issues etc and how the "rumbling" noise is still there and in turn the new starter motor is occasionally staying on again after it being replaced under warranty he mentioned that it could be linked to the DMF he minded in his ford days that the transits were troublesome to start and rattling on idle turns out the DMF had issues which related to the starter.

Done some Googling and sure enough a good few issues with starter motors linked with DMF's on a whole load of different brand of vehicles not just VAG's :S

Whats your thoughts?? i'm going to "with kid gloves on " speak to Newmarket Skoda about this but i will be asking David on Tuesday to take a look at it quickly.
