Hello all,

My MkI Octy VRS has developed a crack about 6" long in the undertray towards the front of the car. The integrity of the undertray has not been compromised,as there is still plenty of it in place, however the cracked section hangs low by and inch or so and occassionally scraps the ground when parking on steep inclines etc.

Initially i just clagged it back on with some duct tape which worked okay for a few days until it rained and the duct tape seems to have lost its adhesiveness.

As such i was wondering if anyone had experience of carrying out such a repair?

At the moment im thinking of drilling a few holes on either side of the crack and using some cable ties to draw the two sides together, and then clag a bit of glue into the seam and cover it with Gorilla Tape to provide some protection whilst the glue sets - could anyone reccomend a suitably resiliant and strong glue for such a job?

I think it'd be better to replace. If any of it finds it's way into the engine bay it might not be pretty.

Take it off and take it to someone who repairs bumpers and ask them to plastic weld it back together.

Ordered a replacement, just want to check the part number i have is correct for the MkI Octy vRS (Petrol): 1J0 825 237 R
