New Bluetooth Module with iPhone 4?

Featured Replies

I have recently fitted a new Bluetooth module (3C8 035 730 B ) to my 2009 Superb Elegance, I can now pair with my iPhone 4, but i have noticed in other people's images that they now have a battery indicator at the top right of the MaxiDot display, I only have a square symbol (Shown in the image below) Anyone got any ideas??

Thanks,

See Here for the info we have....

.... but it appears the B is a newer version of the A that i have fitted... maybe the MaxiDot or Columbus needs a firmware update to make it talk to an even new(er) module...?

You have same car as me, so should work... altho i am using a BlackBery and not an iPhone...

I also have the battery indicator for my iPhone 3GS in my Superb (delivery Aug-10, not sure of the firmware).

I have recently had the Columbus firmware updated at my local dealer so I don't think it can be that, however out of date firmware for the MaxiDot would make sense!

Is there a way to check the version of MaxiDot firmware? I would assume that can only be updated by the dealer although I'm a bit reluctant to do that as it would probably void my warranty as i have changed the Bluetooth module? Does anyone know if there is another way?

Cheers,

Mark

+1 Nov.2010 delivery.

Cars from May 2010 (model Year 2011) were supplied with a BT module that could cope with rSAP and HFP and should work fully with any phone. (I'd be taking my car back if it didnt!)

I added a 3C8 Module (revision A) onto my pre-may 2010 Superb and do get the battery meter.

The OP has added a 3C8 revision B, i am unsure if this is the reason for no battery meter.

I know that this question has probably been answered somewhere before, but I just need to put my mind at rest before ordering,

I have a 2010 Superb Combi (delivered mar 10), and want to change the bluetooth module, If I order a 5N0 035730D,

is this a simple replacement of the existing module, by removing screws and plugs, or does it need any type of recoding?

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

I'v seen one on ebay for £110, + £10 p&p.

See the link in post 2 of this thread... Hopefully that'll answer everything!

There's even photos of me fitting a new module into the car.

I received a 5N0035 730D module in the post this morning but found that I had a problem when I went to change over the two units, multi-plug changes no problem, but the arieal plug does not, the picec that i have that fits in to socket in the original unit, is not wired up to loom , as in photos, but is connected to a small circuit board which then sticks out from side of unit.

It would appear that the small plastic tags on the inside of this plug, do not line up with the fitttings in the 5N0 unit.

Any ideas would be a great help, as I would rather not have to return unit.

Thanks,

J.
