Anyone have spare air box lying around? Mines broke

Featured Replies

Seems as though the clips have snapped on mine. You can see where its gaping open (orange can be seen)

Is it worth replacing this part?

I would replace it as it's part of the seal which forces all your air through the filter. Seeing a bit of orange seems to be normal, when I replaced my K&N with an OEM spec Bosch paper filter, I can see the orange rubber through the sides. But it's clipped on properly, the box seems to be designed with a bit of a split which the rubber compresses into to form a good seal. On yours, because the clip is busted, your airbox will really just be sitting on top of the rubber and not sealing properly. So yeah, I'd definitely replace it. Sadly I don't have one, but I'm sure many people do who have fitted open cone filters. Also check out www.ibizaoc.com as there's a for sale section on there and it's the same engine in the Ibiza FR and possibly the Cupra TDI, so those parts are probably compatible too.

Mines the same... take the top off and refit it with no hoses connected.. should align up correctly :)

EDIT: Sory, my mistake didnt see the snapped clips on yours there!
