110BHP TDi non PD tuning

Featured Replies

What tuning options do I have for a non PD 110BHP TDi?

**EDIT** 110 not 100

There isn't a 100bhp non PD engine, what is your engine code?

As said above there is no 100bhp no PD It's either a 90bhp or a 110bhp,

Sorry, my mistake  It's a 110

Hi,

As a first stage I would try tunit's digital tuning box.

If your extremely luck lloyd allard might have an 'old' hybrid turbo kicking around.

Peppy you could import an uprated turbo from kermatdi in america as they still sell them

Old school.. Crank up the boost pressure and advance the pump timing slightly.. Job done.

ECU controlled so not quite as simple as you mention

It's already been remapped, but the wife has been driving my vRS quite lot over the last couple of months and now wants 'a bit more oomph' as she puts it.

I thought with the PD units it's just a case of getting a bigger turbo and injectors and bob's your uncle. I just haven't seen anything about non-PD tuning on here and wondered if it is as easy? Or am I completely wrong?

i used to find my old 110 non pd, comparable to a standard vrs, it had digital tuning box, decat straight exhaust and induction kit, put out 140bhp and similar torque to mapped vrs 220llb/ft, but as said you can still go uprated turbo, but will need bigger injectors and such so will be getting expensive,

I read about it somewhere online, something to do with modifying the signal that controls the pump timing, like a diode and a capacitor or something like that.

just go onto FRED'S http://forums.tdi.com and start reading keep you going for hours :-)

Bigger turbo, injectors and map to see about 160-170bhp, bigger fuel pump to get past this. The clutch will struggle on much more than a remap of the standard engine, though.

'Bigbossman' knows a fair bit about 110tdi tuning.
