vRS Satnav

Featured Replies

Pick up my Mk1 vRS tomorrow. Will be like a kid at Xmas tonight and probably find it hard to sleep :D . Attached is a picture of the satnav unit on the right hand side I have circled in red is a stupid phone holder thing that is screwed in. I can take this off no problem but the piece of plastic surround is not with the car. Is it possible to buy this piece?

Thanks

Yes, you should be able to buy that from your dealer.

Or go buy VW Polo Cup holder, that also will fit in there.

Available from a dealer and it's not a polo cup holder, it's a fabia cup holder that fits on there. However, if it's a right hand drive then the cup holder only fits on the left hand side so a blank is the only answer.

As said, there is a cupholder that fits in there. Available from your Skoda dealer.

Looks like your steering wheel is on the wrong side though emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

Don't think it is a cup holder myself.

The trim piece will be available from Skoda dealer.

Any chance of a close up OP?

Double check part numbers prior to ordering!

I think the OP means it has the phone holder, and he wants to get rid of it.

Thanks for the replies. Will go to the dealer and order the part. Can post a close up pic when I get the car but I think my question is answered.

Thanks again.

No I realise that. I just wanted to see it up close to see

if it's the OE phoneholder. There was one available on LHD

cars and it may be sellable. ;)

The cupholder will fit in the R/H side on euro model.

Like in your pic soft scoop as that is a LHD shown.

It goes into the slot furthest from the steering wheel.

depending on what side the wheel is on.

I'd expect part numbers to be different

for LHD and RHD cupholders though.

The blank should be universal. Just make sure as

Mike B says that it's onyx or it won't match the rest.

The blanks and cup holders are handed due to the curvature of the dash, And you'll need the infill retainer to clip the blank to!

Oh ok didnt realise the phone holder was only available on Euro models. I will check it out tomorrow and post a closer pic. It has some sort of phone connection in the centre tray in front of the gear stick so it might be OE.

You'll need to take the H/U out and disconnect the wee green connector next to the multichanger connector!
