what mileage

Featured Replies

what mileage can you expect to get from a regular serviced skoda 2.0tdi bkd engine ?there is 170miles on mine at the moment fresh oil and filter every 7000miles just wondering can i expect much more life from the engine, at the moment its the most reliable car ever

It should do a few more than 170 miles . I would think anywayemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Just service every 10k or 18k. No need to do interim oil changes on modern engines with modern oil.

I have 416,000kms on mine. Service every 15,000kms (9,000miles) and change the fuel filter every second service. Make sure you use proper spec oil (VW505.01) and don't use cheap filters.

Diesel engine, properly serviced and driven............should literally go for ever.

I recall a VW advert from the 1990s featuring a petrol Jetta or Golf. It had dome 500 thousand miles with just ordinary consumables replaced

I think I remember that. The figure in my head was a million miles. VW bought the car back from the guy for the same price he paid for it and gave him a new golf as well. Allegedly they wanted to see why it had lasted so well but it was a good bit of marketing too.
