roof box and standard aerial

Featured Replies

Hi,

Have a Yeti on order,so passing the time trying to get the right things for it (lots of time.. )a quick question, do you have remove or mod the standard fitted aerial when roof bars and roof box(in this case a Husky 3/4 ) are used? we are going for the whisper bars, the NZ manufactured ones as these have a lower drag and hence less noise when left in place with the box removed, or so I am lead to believe......

If any one has tried this set up,is it a good one? and should I purchase a modded antenna for the SM?

thanks, :wonder: Crabfat

Nobody has yet mentioned having to remove their aerial so they can fit a roof box. Yours should come with the stubby aerial, unless they have changed it again.

Here you can see the 'short' aerial. on post no 352

mine came with a long aerial but i have to put a alloy beesting i have in the garage when the roofbox goes on!

But as yours is new you should get a stubby one anyway.

Thanks all,

Only thing is have to wait till end November to get the car

Ta, for the replies

crabfat

I replaced the Std areal for a stubby due to the fact that the Std areal would have been 'torn off' the first time I reversed out of the garage emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

The stubby gives me about 3cm clearance between the stubby areal and the underside of the open garage door.
