Just used sat nav for 1st time.Worked great, got me to where I needed to be, only problem was I could hardly hear the instructions.Anybody talk me through how I higher it up please ...the manual is a minefield of jargon

Just turn up the volume while the voice is saying an instruction

Yep that's it, same applies for traffic announcements etc. Just adjust the volume while the particular function is in full flow. Mine also mutes the music whilst the sat nav is speaking but I don't remember seeing a separate setting for this so must happen automatically once you turn the volume up.

there is a seperate settings menu for permanently adjusting the volume of announcements etc

cant remember exactly without looking. either in nav - settings, or sound - settings.
