Central Locking Stopped Working

Featured Replies

Been fine since I've had it and now my first fault. Had no trouble unlocking and locking the car all day but came home tonight pressed the button and nothing. Won't unlock or lock. Will lock all with the key but only open the driver door and then the alarm goes off as I enter the car. Goes off once I start it. Tried both keys and nothing works. Any ideas? Worked literally 5 mins before. Apart from that the car is good just a bit disheartened to have my first problem with less than a 1000 miles on the clock.

Mine sometimes does this, I just leave it a while and then it works again

Yeah I've left it an hour and its working again. Very strange. I'll be popping to the dealers anyway to change it so it opens/locks all the doors at once. Hate pressing the button twice

you may want to check out p41 on the user manual?

Ah so I only need to lock once but still need to double click to unlock everything. That's the bit that annoys me

The locks thing annoys me as well, I usually end up opening the windows a few inches as well as unlocking the doors!

I have the same issue every 3 months or so with no action from the button press. As above, it usually works after about 10 mins.

It was mentioned somewhere else on the forum, that the locks are electronic, even the lever inside the car presses a relay or something to unlock the doors.

Let us know what the dealer says about the locking issue!

during the short time ive had mine i can say the only thing thats annoying me is the bloody doors, same two presses as the mkI but it doesnt always open all 4

when im in the dealers ill be asking for single press operation, this two presses is a pita

I had this problem as well, see http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/207226-central-locking-gremlins/page__fromsearch__1

Glad to say it has been fixed (or at least it hasn't gone wrong in the last 6 weeks or so). Went to dealer twice. First time they replaced a resistor but it went wrong within a couple of days. Next time they replaced a diode and so far so good. I got the feeling the 2nd time that they were confident about the fix. I think they had received tech advise from Skoda at that point.

Hope yours gets fixed soon.

Been fine all day today. I'll go down Thursday to see about it

There is a new flash for the ecu that Will sort this problem out. I had the same thing with mine and the local dealer sorted it out in one day.

Take it to get it sorted, Skoda are aware of the problem.

Fingers crossed but it's still fine. I'll go to the dealers Thursday anyway to see what they say. Does anyone know how much they charge for changing convenience options in VAGCOM?

The dealers suggested that it was for all fabs, but please dont quote me on it.

Going to the dealers today. It hasn't happened since so I don't expect they can do much. Getting them to change it so all the doors open with one click and I may add the beep lock too. Anything else I should change?
