Briskoda help for skoda advert

Featured Replies

I have read two threads and seen the advert for the vRS once.Rubbish.The advert for the Fabia sport was something like "it's easy to park ,but you might not want to"

How about silent footage of the vRS driven by a pensioner round the track panning to shots of aghast mini cooper owners ;)

Personally I think they should have done something brilliant like the Audi S4 advert with the throbbing music and the bull pawing at the ground.Something mean

Anyone got a better suggestions for an advert.I am sure we could set up an think tank for skoda rather than wasting money on whoever is doing the adverts at the moment :D

Must admit I can't see Land Rover wanting to pinch the latest Skoda Adverts.....I can't find the words to describe them but believe me it ain't good

How about just scrapping the blasted things altogether. Waste of money especially as the car(s) are making a name for themselves anyway ;)

there hasnt been a need for TV advertising in the past has there !? although the ones where the workers didnt beleive the car was a Skoda were quite good.

Maybe has an ad where a BMW or Merc driver is struggling to loose a car in the mirrors but you dont see the full car just bits of it... then as a corner or dual carrigeway comes up the Skoda blasts passed and you see it then...??

i'll get my coat.

Unfortunately regulations for TV car ads must not encourage speeding and so on - Mazda have come the closest to trouble with their Zoom-Zoom campaign...

i thought it was a crap advert.

Thought adds were supposed to encourage you to by stuff, if ididnt know about fabia vRS's it would put me write off.

but maybe that was the idea !

who nose what happens in the media's collective brain cells

My Bro saw the skoda ad and thought exactly the same thing, need some sort of aggressive lookin ad, after all the car does look quite intimidating from some angles...

Think we need to get their marketing team out to a Briskoda trackday! ;)

I'd have to argue that it is an effective advert.

It's certainly got you lot talking about it. :D

No we're not...

Actuall,we are:D mind you I have a real urge to buy a top of the range trouser press with the same torque as a porshe boxter ;)

Exactly...which is the purpose of the advert. Now the classy one with people pressing their alarm buzzers...that was a dull advert that was easily forgotten.

Please rephrase it to be "same peak torque"...I think you'll find there's a discrepancy as to how that torque is delivered which makes a significant difference... ;)

I don't understand torque though even after reading the detailed threds on it :D

The people who will debate the advert will be skoda owners who actually spotted what it was about and will think it was a bit naff.

Other people will find the advert just passes them by and the only subconcious bit they will pick up on(if they even care) will be the trouser press  don't think they will investigate what it's all about.

Best to just show it in it's glory.Get the renault bods to show them how it's done I say.Quality adverts that make you forgive all electrical gremlins and just because of some sexy, sleek adverts.Even BMW's 1 hits you with the music :D IMO of course!

Havnt seen this ad yet and dont have Sky so not too sure if ill get to see it on the TV :(

Anyone got a link to download it?

Cheers

Picture the scene:

A jazzy stripped down version of 'These Boots were made for walking' plays in the background.

a psychologists office. A well dressed executive with a crazed look in his eye is lying on the couch talking passionately to the psychologist.

Fade to a comfortable new housing estate. We see a man holding a bank statement at his lounge window. He stares with resentment at the German sports saloon car parked on his drive.

Fade to a high end sportscar sales showroom. A too-young looking sales man in a suit 2 sizes too big sits making cats cradles with an elastic band.

fade to the window of a Skoda dealership. A poster adverstises

"Fabia vRS

24 hour test drives available now."

The camera pans back to show a well dressed executive leaving the showroom with a set of keys. He has a derisive smirk on his face. He gets into a Fabia vRS and drives off.

"Skoda Fabia vRS"

When do I collect my BAFTA?

The main thing I can see which is wrong with the adverts for the Furby Sport and the vRS is that they both suck from too many angles.

You won't want to park it ?! Very true, as it will probably get scratched in the local supermarket carpark

As for the vRS one - show it driving around perhaps?

Most car manufacturers spend tons of cash on these things. If you're gonna do it different and possibly cheaper, than be original. The Citroen adverts are original, not exactly relevant to the driving aspect of it, but they capture attention in a positive manner. The Skoda ones are not interesting, captivating and are quite annoying in many ways.

The Sport 'almost as fast as the vRS' - even worse that one, it devalues the vRS and it is not the same type of car anyway. The Sport no doubt is a nice car, but it's not a hot hatch either. Remapped the Furby is a hot hatch, fair enough ;)

Indeed - one's a little shopping car with a bodykit and delusions of "sporting" ability, and the other one's the Fabia Sport... :D

 how could you.You will be chased by a pack of angry furbies(now there is an idea) ;)

We shop using the big vRS with the big boot.

I noticed the advert got a mention on radio 2 by Mr Wogan.I suppose what Jason(devonutopia) said is true.Any advertising is good even if it's bad press(no pun intended)

Two good efforts on the advertising front though :D

Hmmm ;) - Somehow I still think the Furby vRS will eat that 'Sport'

Not buying it for the bodykit, hehe

Depends on the criteria...have you seen the seats in the Fabia Sport? Much better than those silly pale efforts in the Fabia vRS... :D
