New Fabia Greenline II owner

Featured Replies

Hi to everyone.

Have recently purchased a new Fabia Greenline II hatchback which was difficult to get hold of as I wanted to get the no VAT 0% finance deal so it had to come from stock (presumably a cancelled order). I had to do a fair bit of chasing and found 1 vehicle available in the UK that would qualify for this offer.

So far I'm pretty pleased with it, however mpg isn't quite as good as I expected, best average so far was 70mpg on my way to work. I put this down to the car being brand new and not run-in yet plus my still getting the hang of the gear ratios as I think this car must have the tallest gears in history.

I've made some minor modifications:

Installed Parrot MKI9100.

Put some LED stick on lights in the back with Velcro -why does this car not have a courtesy light in the back?

Fitted a Gentex GENK2 auto-dimming rear view mirror as I was constantly getting dazzled by following cars, particularly with the growing popularity with badly adjusted aftermarket HIDs.

Previous car was a Volvo C30 2 litre diesel -quite a change.

The best I could get from mine was 68mpg at first, but it got better and better over the first 10k miles.

It'll now average 10mpg more if driven the same.

I did get 78mpg for three tanks in a row before I got bored and started driving a bit faster.

These are real mpg measured from filling, not from the car display. Mine reads about 8% or so over so it looks better on fuel than it is.

Like the rest of the range, the mpg figures are optimistic.

Despite driving VERY economically previously I've not got over 80mpg yet, even though the combined official figure is 83.something.

Currently on 12k miles.

All fuel figures are worked out mathmaticaly for the brochures and rules. No real world driving. No effects from airconditioning, windows open, roof bars, etc. You need to put in driving techniques to get the best MPG.

Hey I am interested in the hatch spoiler from the Greenline, any chance the part number is visible from under your spoiler or do anyone know the part number for it? I guess it's a 3 piece?

Sorry no idea as to a part number -couldn't see anything on it. It does appear to be a 3 piece. Have you tried phoning a Skoda dealership and obtaining a part number from their service/parts desk?

I happen to reside in the "land of cars" where Skoda isn't sold ;)

I'm curious what you want the spoiler for -is it not a Skoda then? There is a similar spoiler on the VW polo bluemotion.

Want to figure out if it could fit my project car

Thanks for the Polo info!

BTW anyone willing to measure the WIDTH of their window on their Skoda Fabia? I am pretty sure the Polo isn't using the identical hatch correct?

The FABIA one is more interesting (a bit more dramatic) than the Polo one:
