I have a monte carlo 1.6TDI and would like a bit of advice on here from you guys...

I would like to uprate the power output from the standard 75bhp, suppose a chip upgrade would be the best place to start?

And also I'd like to fit a set of steel wheels with winter tyres (for the winter!) which steels fit (thinking Octavia) and I take it I will also need to cange the wheel nuts too?

Sorry but the Fabia is new to me, had a superb which I really liked before buying the Monte.

Look at Revo or Shark for a remap

As for wheels..The fitment is PCD 100 so the Mk1 Fabia or Mk 1 Octavia wheels will fit.. I suggest 16"

+1 that's the one I went for, great power plant but really shouldn't be a great difference between the 75 & 105 bhp, should have gone for the VRS

Economy wise you're spot on, since the brochure figures are identical for both outputs, but in the performance stakes there's huge difference

Max speed - 103mph (75)......117mph (105)

0-62mph - 14.1 secs (75)......10.9 secs (105)

Torque - 195 Nm (75)......250 Nm (105)

I'm assuming that when maps become available for the 105, it should be capable of around 140 without any other alterations
