this is my first topic for me here,i have Octavia a4 2003 which have normal keys, i want to switch it to original folded keys with remote control,how ca i do these & where can i buy this kit with its receiver ? please respond

If your car already had remote locking, then you can buy some flip keys from ebay, get the blades cut and then you just need to transpose the transponder from the old key to the new key (or get the new codes to the dash if you have the SKU code).

If your car does not have remote locking, then there is probably much more work involved.

I think your problem is that no-one's ever done this before.

Do your keys have serrated edges (like a Yale lock, but down both edges) or a rectangular bar with a channel cut out of it like someone had used a very small milling machine? In the first case, I think you'll need a complete set of new locks which will come with blades for "flip" keys, remote control bodies, any immobiliser componentry from the old keys will need to be swapped to the new ones, and the electronics for the remote control receiver in the car, plus the relevant sub-loom for the wiring.

In the latter case, you won't need the new locks.

i think your words are in the right place dear, i think that installing the OEM remote control will demand from me much effort and time to install it , as i want to install a new receiver in the car also new set of the lock,( one for steering wheel (ignition)- 2 for the doors- one for the luggage compartment ???

The one other thing I can say with confidence is that the receiver unit is installed beside the internal rear-view mirror, so fitting it and its wiring means removing and replacing the headliner, which is not an easy job, or one anyone can really advise you on an easy way to do.

You can buy a kit off ebay to convert it remote locking with flip keys
