Update on Dodgy Aircon

Featured Replies

Got my Fabia back from the dealer after being in for a week getting the heating/air con fixed. It would seem that (x2) controller motors for the heating vents had packed in. These interpret the signal from the heating controls within the cabin and adjust the flaps behind the scenes which blend hot/cold air to get the mix you want. If these motors pack in they revert to a 'standby' mode which is all flaps open, hot air only.

It would seem to be mamoth job, involving removal of the entire dashboard assembly to get at the relevant motors.

As you might expect I now have various rattles and creaks which weren't there before. The dashboard 'shutlines' [between the dash and door panels] are tight at the passenger side and 1/4 inch wide at the drivers side. I have a cable and plastic connection 'socket' hanging out of the plastic cowl which covers the gear change etc. I've no idea what's not connected anymore!! Back to the dealers again. Ho hum.

Don't forget to add a review of your dealer in the dealers section.
