front wheels stick after being washed

Featured Replies

On Monday night while i was at work a main water pipe burst near our car park causing a mini river,so we had to get from our car park and drive in about 8" of water for a few seconds to get to a side street on a hill.

Tuesday morning and this morning reversing my car out of my drive the front wheels were sticking ,I had to put use a lot of power to get the wheels moving.

This also happens when i take my car to be washed, after moving it a few hours later the front wheels are sticking.

what's the problem please ?

thanks

check for lodged pebbles or stones in the brake calipers

My VRs always does that after its been washed!

Just a bit of surface rust on your discs, causing pads to stick.

Soon comes off when you drive the car.

I agree with YorkshirePudding as this has happened to me.

Perfectly normal, if a car is parked up with wet disc brakes the pads will stick to a layer of surface contamination and rust. A bit of power will overcome the binding and the discs will be cleaned on the first aplication of the brakes.

It's not harmfull and nothing to worry about.

Cheers
