Chrome handbrake lever button...

Featured Replies

Hi chaps.

The chrome coating has been chipped on the handbrake button since Ive had the car but recently its started to chip off a bit more.

Is the only way to swap this with an entire new lever assembly or can the component be swapped itself?

Cheers.

I've got a leather covered one off a golf and a rubber covered one off a toledo (still on the car) I've just had a look at the leather one and it looks like you'd destroy it by removing the cover

Ah, I wasnt sure if there was a method of removing the button from the cable opening. Bah!

It feels quite solid, not a clip on replaceable affair, I could be wrong though. The leather cover appears to be well glued, I can't see a clip to get it off. What does it show up like on vagcat or similar?

I have the same problem on mine is it easy to change the handbrake lever? I

ebay search

No buttons on ebay either

You'd have to remove the rear part of the centre console, then undo the cable adjuster nut and 3 bolts to the floor
