Battery for Felicia Fun

Featured Replies

With winter approaching I thought I ought to check under the bonnet of my Felicia Fun. I've only had it a few weeks so I'm starting to assemble a shopping list for my Halfords Trade Card.

The battery currently fitted is an "063" but looks too big to have been fitted without removing some assemblies.

Is this the right battery and if so aam I missing something obvious as to how it would fit? Spacial awareness isn't my forte (drystane dyking does my head in...), but this battery looks like a ship in a bottle.

Just asking the question for when that inevitable time comes to replace it, when it's so cold that your hands won't work.

Got a picture? I put a bigger battery on the rally car (may be an 063)... the only thing I need to do is remove the strut brace to get it off.

Think I'll need to do the same. Just doesn't seem logical even for a vehicle from a bygone era.

I don't think that's a problem with the standard size one though - IIRC it can come out without an issue. And on the face of it, it's only 4 bolts, and the battery is something you maybe remove every 5 years; lots of modern cars have more stupid decisions made in their design!

I've just in the last week, replaced my battery. £35.99 from tanya batteries in Abergele, N.Wales.

The 063 battery is the correct size, mine actually had a 075 fitted but it was needing a jump start after a few days sitting outside my home, so i shopped around and got one for the above price with a 2 or 3 year warrenty...

Very easy job to change, 10mm spanner to disconnect the terminals and a 13mm socket to undo the clamp. Undo everything, you then need to lift and turn the battery 90 degrees anti clockwise before lifting out over the brake servo. Putting the new battery in is simple, just read the above from the last stage, to the first...

DON'T FORGET TO FIND THE CODE FOR YOUR STEREO IF IT HAS ONE!
