The boot lid on our Scout keeps "sticking" and not opening properly. Makes no difference if I open it on the key or using the handle on the boot. Its like the boot catch is not quite releasing properly. Anyone else had this problem, or know of an easy fix, or is it a dealer thing?

I had a similar problem:

The lever on the boot floor that works on the lock release mechanism of the lock on the boot lid has a plastic sleeve (presumably to make a soft opening and avoid wear).

This sleeve on the lever can work itself off, and in my case, make it very dificult to open the boot. Sometimes it wouldn't open enough to come of the catch on the lock.

To fix (if it's the same problem)

remove the spare tyre.

This gives access to two plastic nuts holding the boot lip trim to the boot.

Remove these two nuts.

Pull the trim sharply upwards - needs a good pull.

Find lock activating lever and check the plastic sleeve is correctly fitted.
