rebuilt my asz engine need tapet settings

Featured Replies

now i know a few of you smart people and going to tell me that they have hydraulic tappets, but i need the tappet setting for the injector rocker shaft, engine is just a bit noisy up top,

done a full rebuild,

crank lightened , reground and ballanced,

block rebored and polished,

conrods lightened and polished

new oversized pistons

cam reprofiled,

over size valves

head skimmed, polished and ported.

new injectors,

so just need the clearance for the injector rocker shaft.

Using a DTI get the cam at it's upper position so the injector is all the way down. Undo the lock nut and screw the adjuster all the way in until it stops, then turn back 225 degrees and lock off.

As above. :) What bore settings did you use, and which pistons? Were you able to use the same conrods (all be it lightened)?

i had to send my own pistons away before i got the new one manufactered, they are +90. and the injector bowl altered, yes same rods and std bearings, right set the rockers and shes running well now.

do another few hundred miles and change the oil.

So what dimensions are the new ones? I would be interested long term as its a handy way to increase displacement without actually changing the crankshaft. :)

sorry dont know the size, just that they are +090 thou oversize of standard, if i remember my conversation correctly with the piston guy, the displancement should be around 2100cc now.
