So why didn't they give you a lower price in the first place?

I had a much lower quote from Swift and told AF. They then came back with something better but still no-where near as good.

I like AF as my car is modified and covered on a like for like basis with an agreed value. Whereas Swift say, "We will not insure your car if it has been modified in anyway to enhance its performance.".

I bet Swift will put up your premium next year and you'll have to ring around again - they all do it. What a pain.

The problem is, the underwriters will always charge what they think they can get away with! There is always room for them to move down, it all depends on whether they value your business or not!
