Time warp estate!

Featured Replies

Newport, Isle Of Wight, so the miles don't surprise me at all. Still has the F.H Winter dealer plates too. I see the immobiliser has been removed on it.

Looks very nice. Apologies if this is a stupid question but how can you tell the immobiliser has been removed?

I've no doubt it will fly through an MOT but I think I'd be looking for a full ticket at that price.

If its is IOW there's the ferry to factor in for most of us too.

Because there's a hole in the dash where it used to be....... :)

The Favorit immobiliser keys pack up or get lost and new ones aren't available, thankfully, it's just an aftermarket unit under the instrument pod, intercepts the fuel pump supply behind the left hand lower kick panel and ignition supply from behind the key switch, you can see where they've cut and pasted in the wiring on import and it's easy to re-instate!

Well, I bought it!

Take a chance on the short mot, only done 17k so can't be many since last mot.

£770 would be top money I guess, but as it's only half the cost to replace a failing deisel pump and ecu on the Citroen I have now, it must be worth a punt.

I had one of these a few years back and it gave me many smiles per mile with technology I can fix.

It's been a while since I had one, so can anyone tell me what the spares situation is like? As long as the service stuff is still available I'll be okay.

stuff like filters & plugs etc are still available, and even timing chains too. The Favorit is fairly basic mechanically, so you can't really go wrong. Happy motoring :)

Congratulations

I don't think that's a bad price at all, considering nice clean Favorits are like rocking horse dung now!

As already stated, all service parts are readily available aftermarket, only trouble you'll get is if you break a piece of plastic trim or some such, as skoda don't support parts for the favorit anymore.

Post some nice high res pics when you get the chance, looks like a really nice old bus :)

Picking it up tomorrow, I'm in the West Country so IOW is not too bad. The owner is bringing it over on the ferry anyway. Only had one owner who recently passed on.

With 17k it's equivalent to less than 2 years old.

The last Favorit I had only needed service stuff in the 2 years I owned it,(apart from an engine mount) and that had 60+ on the clock.

Well done that man. Personally, I think it's an absolute bargain. I was umming and ahhing about getting it myself, but the misses said absolutely NOOOOO, and I want a Rapid/136 next year so I left it. If you fancy meeting up at some point (i'm in Preston) it would be nice to have some piccies of both cars next to each other, a very rare sight I'm sure!

Russ.
