I know the SEAT part numbers, but as this engine is used in lots of cars, does a VW part number exist for the same pipe and trumpet??

The part number tends to go with whichever car used them first, so all the bits on your Fabia which have been recycled from the Golf Mk4 will be 1Jx xxx xxx, anything unique to the Fabia would be 6Yx xxx xxx. Since the PD160 engine was only used on the Ibiza Cupra (to my knowledge), the only part number available will be a SEAT 6Lx xxx xxx number for it. The PD130 is used in lots of cars as you say, but the PD160 is only in one.

I think if your mate works for VW, you'll be out of luck. I tried to buy Skoda stuff off David Hawthorne of Sere Motors on SCN, and he couldn't give me a price because it was 6Y and 1U parts I was after (i.e. Skoda parts not SEAT parts, even though they're compatible with the same cars). However if your mate works for TPS (who supply VW with parts), it'd be fine as they're cross-group.

If you can't get a discount, get a price from Sere, I'm not sure whether he's on here with being a SEAT dealer but he seems a really good guy and one of the better sponsors on SeatCupra.net. Really helpful and well worth doing business with IMO.
