R-Tech mobile remapping

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Simple one really, looking into a remap on my Fabia vRS and R-Tech have popped up, i live in Wiltshire, so not many tuners about and these guys offer a mobile remapping service (£200inc vat for the map, and £40 for the mobile service, which is cheap imo!). Any experience with this kind of map and their professionalism? Havent seen anything mentioned about these guys around the forum, but a bit has come up on golf forums etc?

Thanks,

Mike

Yup big on ukmkiv forum for golfs

Yeah, thats all i could find too. They speak all the right talk, mantioning around 170bhp and just uinder 300lb/ft to be safe on the clutch, but without other Briskodians experience, its hard to trust, especially with a mobile guy, if you see where im coming from?

I have an R Tech remap dude, Ben is a nice guy and they are always willing to "tweek" the map to suit each person. Mine was rolling roaded at 174bhp and 310ftlb :)

Thanks for the reply! Yours running standard engine for that power? 310lb/ft the limit for the standard clutch isnt it? Whats power delivery like?/General opinion on the map?

I have had boost turned down a little now but those figures may be different now

There is a graph in my build thread, the power is right there low down so you just have work up the revs before planting it. If your a tit and plant it below 2.5k in 6th you can get it slip well I can but mine is on 86k.

I'd have said lower is better for the standard clutch. But as we're all talking about generic remaps, my apples could be your fish or mongoose! I asked Jabba for 270lbft. Car's never been RR'd so I don't know what it's putting out. But it did go through a phase of sluipping on the m'way when booting it in 5th, 6th. (This was me going through an "addicted to torque/response" phase. Quickly stabbing the throttle rather than gradually rolling onto it when the road ahead was clear.)

Had mine done 2 years ago and rolling roaded and it's never missed a beat

I got the R Tech owner on my Facebook, seems a decent guy and my chain of mates rate him/them well.

All good feedback from what i can see. I spoke to one of the guys yesterday who was very helpful on the phone - Booked in for this Saturday at the workshop. Thought it was best to get it done properly at the site and see what its doing on the rolling road for the full custom treatment. Will report back!

I here about all sorts of chip tuning companies good and bad on a daily basis, R-Tech are always one i here about with good reports, i would have no problem going to them!
