Skoda Octavia 2005 Check Light

Featured Replies

Hello Friends,

I have a Skoda Octavia L&K Combi 2005 model. I see the Emissions Workshop light come and go after 40 to 50 kms. I have a new Turbo, cleaned EGR, Cleaned Intercooler, new diesel filter, new timing set and new thin vacuum pipes.I have changed the fuel filter too.

Apart from that I also see few bubbles in the fuel line. The mechanic says that's normal.(Did bleed couple of times for that.) The Scanner shows an error related to fuel pump.

Should I service my pump? This is recommended by the mechanic.

I never had this problem before. It came up after I had starting problems because of my crank switch and once when I had empty tank due to faulty fitting of fuel gauge.

The problem is the check light and the car does not shoot. The rmp rises but the car does not shoot.

Please help me with the right solution.

Which engine does the Indian market L&K have? The UK market has both the 1.8T and 1.9TDi (in both 110 and 130bhp tunes).

Air bubbles in the fuel lines aren't much of an issue with the petrols, but will cause problems with a diesel.

We have the 1.9TDI 90 bhp engines in Diesel. What do you suggest me ... stop the air bubbles or to service the pump?

Diesels just don't run properly with air in the lines.

Start by checking the joints in the fuel line (tank, filter, pump, anywhere 2 pieces of pipe join), to ensure that they're air-tight and fuel-proof.
