Campbells Soup - Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

When I heard that the campbells soup factory was to be demolished I thought I simply need to get some pictures first.

I spoke first to the secuirty guard to see if any access was possible and unfortunately as demolition begun a few days ago, for health and safety reasons this wasnt possible.

In the end I settled for a few pictures of the car by night in the carpark outside with the bright red campbells tower in the background. Ironically too I found an old picture of my first Volvo 850 T-5 too in a similar stance.

Its a page in history erased I think seeing such a huge landmark dissapear. Not related to photography I know but interesting as it may be below is a little history.

Here are a few articles relating to the buildings history, briefly it was opened in the 1950's and was Campbells first and only major factory to exist in the UK.

That really is a shame, I'd like to go round taking some photos of the factory including the interior. Get some really moody shots going on... shame.

Nice pic, it's a been a landmark that I have looked out for, for many years. I know I'm only 45mins from home when I see it, think it will be missed.

It is the last landmark on my daily commute to work, I know when I see the tower I've passed the point of no return!
