'Buzzing' noise from rear passenger's door

Featured Replies

I have had a 'buzzing' noise from the rear passenger door for the past two years (a bee wouldn't have lasted that long!), and the dealer has had a couple of goes at sorting it out with no success.

Anyway, the car has just been in for its second service, and the dealer has replaced the 'seal cord' and all of the clips.

At the moment it looks like the noise has gone (I will give it another few weeks before a final decision). On the report from the dealer it indicated that they had carried a TPI.

Is is TPI a known procedure to fix a problem?

Cheers

Hi, whats a seal cord?.

Must admit I don't know. It was what was listed on the invoice. The invoice stated that they had carried out TPI2021846/2. If anyone can access this it might provide more info.

might help me too mine makes a sound from new dealer tried and said sorted but had just turned bass to the minus range :wonder:

I don't know what TPI stands for but I think it is when a common or known fault/fix is listed on the dealers system.

When I contacted my local dealer to explain to them the common problem of duff injectors they told me there was no TPI on the system so it can't be a known fault. Despite this it is a known fault and the delaer was just playing hard ball.

There is a common complaint on the Octavia of whistling from the wind around the rear door quarter light glass. A DIY fix is to run a bead of silicone sealant around it. Sounds like Skoda now have a fix kit for it using a cord to improve the seal?
