Quick coilover question

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I know this has probably been asked a million times, bought I'm basically looking for some budget coilovers and wondered which are the best ones? So far it looks like JOM seem to be the most popular, but i was just wondering what your thoughts are? Later on I might splash out on a set of KW's or such a like, but for now i just want to get the thing down as its not far off that of a range rover :giggle:

Also, how low would i be able to go without buying shortened/adjustable drop links? I will purchase them later on when i decide to go lower though.

I've currently got a set of gaz coilovers on my fiesta with adjustable damping - well impressed with them. Just a shame they don't sell them for fabias

Lowering for lowness, pretty much any of the budget brands. Just don't expect them to be a) particularly quiet or B) to last long "uncorroded" without regular TLC/greasing etc.

You can get a pretty reasonable setup for around £400 though ISTR.

I've run JOM coilovers for a couple of months with no issues, I bought them from Venom motorsport who told me they've had less warranty issues with them than FK street coilovers which are slightly more expensive. I've not fitted drop links yet, but heard that Mondeo ones fit.

Heard some mixed reviews about them, i know a few folk run them on their golfs .

We have the JOM kit for £195.00 all in and it comes with 2 years warranty so one of the best options for a budget kit.

Cheers for the comments guys! Much appreciated

Damian, the plan is to buy them off your ebay store, as I've noticed you sell them over ebay. How low can I go without using the shorter drop links? or will I need them no matter what?
